Frequently Asked Questions
Level 2 Support Coordination—also called just Support Coordination—is a funded NDIS support that helps you understand and implement your plan. It’s designed for people who can manage some parts of their support but still need guidance connecting with services, troubleshooting problems, and building the skills to navigate the system with more confidence. Your coordinator works with you to get the right supports in place, coordinate different services, prepare for reviews, and gradually increase your independence.
It’s for participants who need a moderate level of support to understand their NDIS plan and connect with providers, but who don’t require crisis support or intensive case management.
Level 2 is about building your capacity to manage your supports, while Level 3 is for people in complex situations who need specialised, intensive help to manage risks and coordinate services during crises.

You’re meant to be in the driver’s seat. A Level 2 Coordinator works with you, not around you. Their role is to give you clearer options, explain how decisions might impact your plan, and support you to feel confident making informed choices—whether that’s picking a provider, setting boundaries, or preparing for plan reviews. They help build your independence, not take over your life.
Consistency builds trust—and insight. A coordinator who knows your history, goals, and preferences can proactively suggest supports that fit you, not just the plan. Over time, they’ll better understand what works, how you like to communicate, and which red flags to watch for. This leads to fewer disruptions, stronger relationships with your team, and a more stable NDIS journey overall.
Absolutely. A skilled Level 2 Coordinator can help you think beyond the basics. They’ll look at your goals and explore supports you may not know are possible—like funding for apps that support communication, community programs that build social skills, short courses aligned with employment goals, or assistive tech that helps with daily tasks. They also know how to link you with low-cost or mainstream options that stretch your budget further while staying within NDIS guidelines.
Capacity building means helping you become more confident and independent in managing your supports and life goals. A Level 2 Coordinator supports this by teaching you how to navigate the NDIS, communicate with providers, understand your funding, and make decisions that reflect your needs. They might help you practise setting boundaries, organising appointments, or preparing for plan reviews—so over time, you rely less on others and feel more in control of your own journey.
